The concept of God's justice is an important theme throughout the Old and New Testaments. In both testaments, God's justice is depicted as everlasting and eternal.

Here are some examples from the Bible:

Old Testament:

  • "For the Lord loves justice and will not abandon his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the children of the wicked will be cut off." - Psalm 37:28

  • "The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed." - Psalm 103:6

  • "The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does." - Psalm 145:17

New Testament:

  • "And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly." - Luke 18:7-8

  • "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord." - Romans 12:19

  • "And they cried out with a loud voice, saying, 'How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?'" - Revelation 6:10

In both testaments, God's justice is described as unchanging and everlasting. The idea is that God's justice is not subject to time or circumstance, but rather is a constant attribute of His character.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to ask for justice in accordance with Your Word. Your justice is depicted as everlasting and eternal in both the Old and New Testaments. As it is written in Psalm 37:28, You love justice and will not abandon Your faithful ones. We ask that You protect those who seek justice and cut off the wicked.
We also ask that You execute righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed, as it is written in Psalm 103:6. We trust in Your righteousness and faithfulness, as declared in Psalm 145:17.
In Luke 18:7-8, it is written that You will bring about justice for Your chosen ones who cry out to You day and night. We cry out to You today, knowing that You will see that we get justice, and quickly.
Help us to follow Your command in Romans 12:19 to not take revenge, but to leave room for Your wrath. We trust that You will avenge us and repay us according to Your righteousness.
We also join in with the cry of those in Revelation 6:10, asking, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" We know that You are a just and holy God, and we trust in Your perfect timing and judgment.

We ask all these things in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
