"The Battle Belongs to God: How to Trust in His Power and Win Every Fight"
Updated: May 3, 2023
Isaiah 49:25 says, "But thus says the LORD: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the tyrant be rescued, for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children."
This powerful verse is a promise from God that He will fight for His people and protect them from their enemies. As believers, we can take comfort in knowing that we do not have to face our battles alone. God is with us, and He is more than capable of defeating any foe.
This promise is not just limited to the Old Testament. In the New Testament, we see Jesus Himself declaring victory over the enemy. In John 16:33, He says, "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Similarly, in Romans 8:31, we read, "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
These scriptures remind us that as believers, we have a God who fights for us and protects us. No matter what battles we may face, we can trust that God will be with us and give us the victory. As we go through life, we may encounter many challenges and difficulties. But we can hold on to the promises of God, knowing that He is faithful and true. He will contend with those who contend with us, and He will save our children. Let us trust in Him and rely on His strength to overcome all obstacles.
Here are a few more scriptures that illustrate God's faithfulness to fight for His people:
Exodus 14:14 - "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."
Deuteronomy 1:30 - "The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes."
2 Chronicles 20:15 - "Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s."
Psalm 35:1-3 - "Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. Take up shield and armor; arise and come to my aid. Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to me, 'I am your salvation.'"
Psalm 44:5 - "Through you we push back our enemies; through your name we trample our foes."
These scriptures show us that God is a warrior who fights on behalf of His people. He is strong, mighty, and always faithful. When we face challenges and battles in life, we can trust that God is with us and will give us the strength to overcome. We need only to trust in Him and His power to save us.
