See Israel's Victory Through the Spirit of the Sons of Issachar: A Call to Rise!
Updated: Nov 15, 2023
I recently read a word posted by Veronika West with Ignite Ireland Ministries about the Sons of Issachar.
She writes, "I heard the Spirit say,…”WATCH…FOR THE SONS OF ISSACHAR WILL ARISE WITH THE SECRET STRATEGIES AND HIDDEN MYSTERIES OF MY GLORY THAT WILL OVER TURN & OVERTHROW THE DEMONIC SCHEMES OF THE SONS OF ISHMAEL”.

After reading her post, I felt compelled to explore the identity and significance of these "Sons of Issachar." Here is what I discovered:
Here is where the Sons of Issachar take mention in the Word of God. As David's time as a fugitive neared its conclusion, prompted by the passing of Saul, he gathered a formidable army of warriors. This remarkable roster is detailed in 1 Chronicles 12, revealing a force of over 337,000 individuals.
However, amid this extensive catalog of hundreds of thousands, a distinctive mention arises of a smaller assembly totaling just 200 individuals. This select group, known as "the sons of Issachar," though also recognized as warriors, were set apart as unique among the vast 337,000. It's worth noting the specific details that God deliberately provides about them:
“…the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do…” (I Chronicles 12:32)
These men indeed stood apart. Their combat prowess, courage, and skill with a sword were unquestionable. However, what truly set them apart were two crucial attributes that defined their exceptional nature.
First and foremost, the sons of Issachar possessed a remarkable ability—they "understood the times." This attribute signified their acute discernment. They did not hastily embrace conventional wisdom or indulge in unverified conspiracies. Instead, they meticulously assessed the unfolding events in their surroundings.
The sons of Issachar had the unique capacity to perceive and uncover truths that others either couldn't grasp or consciously chose to overlook. Their gift lay not in physical might but in their unwavering commitment to discerning the deeper realities of their time.
The second remarkable quality attributed to the sons of Issachar is that they possessed the "knowledge of what Israel should do." These men weren't mere armchair critics, content with offering hindsight wisdom on the actions and decisions of others. Instead, their discerning insight led them to a deep understanding of the course of action required.
The truths they grasped didn't merely inform their understanding but ignited a proactive response, inspiring them to take the necessary steps to navigate the challenges of their era. Their knowledge was not passive but a driving force that empowered them to address the prevailing circumstances wisely and effectively.
So, at that historical moment, there were 200 Sons of Issachar. However, it leads us to wonder how many there might be today and, in a spiritual sense, how many can be considered their modern-day spiritual successors? The Spirit of the Sons of Issachar is very much alive and well today.
Pray this prayer:
Almighty God,
We come before Your majestic presence, boldly and with faith, to pray for the spiritual successors of the Sons of Issachar. We beseech You to anoint them with the divine wisdom and understanding that characterized their forebears. Empower them, O Lord, with the ability to perceive the hidden strategies of darkness, unveil the secrets of Your glory, and discern the times in which we live.
We pray for their strength and courage to stand against the schemes of those who oppose Your people and purposes in Israel and all over the world. Grant them the audacity to call into existence the victory that Israel so deeply needs. In Your name, Jesus, we declare that the Sons of Issachar rise with power and authority, knowing that they have the leverage they require to secure triumph over all adversaries against Israel.
May their eyes be open to see the victory already won, to behold the downfall of Hamas and the peace that descends upon Israel. As we pray, we declare that the spiritual successors of the Sons of Issachar carry Your anointing, and by faith, we call forth the reality of a victorious Israel. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Zechariah 4:6
Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
