"Modern Times, Ancient Warnings: The Similarities Between Today and the Days of Noah"
Updated: May 3, 2023
There are certainly similarities between the culture of the world today and the culture of the world in the days of Noah. In Matthew 24:37-39, Jesus spoke about the end times, saying that they would be like the days of Noah:
"For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man."
Like in the days of Noah, the world today is characterized by rampant sin and wickedness. Many people have turned away from God and embraced immorality, violence, and materialism. The pursuit of pleasure, wealth, and power has become a driving force in society, often at the expense of others and the environment.
Moreover, just as in the days of Noah, many people today are unaware or indifferent to the warnings of impending judgment. They may mock or reject the message of salvation and continue on with their lives as usual, unaware of the consequences of their actions.
However, while there are certainly similarities between the culture of today and the culture of the days of Noah, it's important to remember that the Bible also teaches that no one knows the day or hour of Christ's return (Matthew 24:36). As Christians, our focus should not be on predicting the end times but on living our lives in accordance with God's will and sharing the message of salvation with others.
