"Enemy in Disguise: Navigating People's Hidden Motives to Fulfill Your God-given Purpose"

Updated: May 3, 2023

As believers, we are called to live purposefully and fulfill the assignment that God has placed on our lives. However, when we begin to move in the direction of our calling, the enemy may try to send distractions and obstacles to prevent us from reaching our full potential. One way the enemy does this is by using people to come against us. Therefore, it is essential to use wisdom and discernment to recognize these tactics and stay focused on our God-given purpose.

The Bible warns us about the enemy's schemes and encourages us to be watchful and discerning. 1 Peter 5:8 says, "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." The devil is always looking for ways to distract and defeat us, and we must be vigilant in guarding our hearts and minds against his attacks.

One way the enemy tries to distract us is by sending people into our lives with negative intentions or motives. Proverbs

26:24-25 says, "A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but in his heart he harbors deceit. Though his speech is charming, do not believe him, for seven abominations fill his heart." It's essential to pay attention to the signs and ask God for discernment when we encounter people who seem to have ulterior motives or who seek to pull us away from our purpose.

Additionally, when God blesses us, the enemy may try to use people to come against us and prevent us from receiving the fullness of God's blessings. Matthew 13:20-21 speaks of the parable of the sower, where the seed that fell on rocky ground represents those who hear the word and receive it with joy but fall away when tribulation or persecution arises. The enemy may use people to persecute or discourage us, but we must remain steadfast and trust in God's promises.

Therefore, it's crucial to ask God to reveal the motives of those who come into our lives, and to use wisdom and discernment when building relationships. Proverbs 4:7 says, "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding." We can seek God's wisdom and discernment through prayer, reading His Word, and seeking counsel from trusted spiritual leaders.

When the enemy sends people to distract or discourage us, we can trust in God's guidance and seek His wisdom and discernment. By staying focused on our purpose and trusting in God's promises, we can overcome any obstacle the enemy may throw our way and fulfill the assignment that God has placed on our lives.
